My favorite part of working here is developing relationships with our patients. I enjoy getting to know them and their families, and seeing families grow up in our practice. It’s also an amazing experience when, at the end of a complex case, we see a patient smile and their smile is so beautiful and their new confidence just radiates from them. I manage all aspects of the front desk, including scheduling appointments for our patients, overseeing accounts receivable, as well as presenting treatment plans to our patients and answering their questions.
When I’m not at work, you’ll find me spending most of my time with my family, including my husband, children, and seven grandchildren. When there is some quiet time, I enjoy reading, too.
Front Desk and Dental Assistant
Getting to know our patients and their families, and establishing relationships with them, makes my days wonderful. Our patients are incredible individuals and they always have something new to share with us, whether it’s the latest news about their family, plans for their next vacation, or a recommendation for a good a book. I work primarily in our front office, checking patients in and out, answering the phones, scheduling and confirming appointments, and checking and answering emails. I also send referrals to specialists and coordinate with specialists’ offices for mutual patient appointments, pull and file charts and insurance claims, order office supplies, and schedule laboratory pickup and drop off. Additionally, I am a dental assistant and you’ll sometimes find me in the back office. While I’m always busy, I always have time for a chat with a patient!
As for my personal life, I have been married since 2008 to a two-time brain cancer survivor and we have two daughters, Emberlie and Madison. We love spending time with our two dogs and our family.
I have enjoyed getting to know our patients since I started in 2014. It has been a pleasure getting to know the patients and the ladies in the office as well. You will find me up front verifying insurance, coordinating new patient appointments, checking on patient's history with previous providers, and putting charts together. I will also help with answering the phones, filing charts and insurance claims, and checking patients in and out.
I have been married for 29 years and we have 3 boys together. One graduated from Dallas Baptist with a Masters degree in children's psychology, another graduating from Texas A&M, and the youngest is deciding where to go. We recently adopted a rescue dog named Eli.
I love that my job brings me into contact with such interesting people every day. Each morning I come into the office knowing that I will be having fascinating conversations, learning something new from an exchange, and laughing a lot. Our patients really are wonderful people and it’s an honor to be able to help them achieve great oral health. I perform oral cancer screenings and teeth cleanings, provide gum disease therapy and periodontal evaluation and charting, apply fluoride and sealants, and take X-rays. I also talk with our patients about nutrition and how to keep their oral cavity healthy between their dental cleanings in our office. Helping a patient learn proper home care processes, and seeing the difference it makes when they come in for their next appointment, is incredibly rewarding.
I have one daughter about to graduate high school and go to college. We have a rescue boxer named Sophie that we adore. She keeps us laughing everyday! We also love to travel and see new places.
Joining Dr. Gaddy and her team has been a pleasure. It has been an easy transition and I already feel like I have been here for years. I like being able to help our patients achieve and maintain beautiful, healthy smiles that will last a lifetime. I enjoy working in a comfortable setting with the patient and understand that their needs come first. As a dental hygienist, I help Dr. Gaddy in the diagnosis and treatment-planning phases of our patients care while they are here for their teeth cleanings. I also provide periodontal treatment, apply fluoride and sealants, take digital x-rays, and home care instructions.
I am married with two teenagers that keep me busy on my time off. When we do get to rest and relax we enjoy spending time on our back patio and cooking. We also have two adopted dogs, a Texas heeler and pit bull that we adore.
I enjoy getting to meet so many new people every day and hearing their stories. I appreciate the opportunity to teach and encourage healthy habits and seeing the outcome in their beautiful smiles. I also love that I learn from them too. I graduated in 2010 from Texas Woman's University and moved to Austin soon after. I have the ability to provide teeth cleanings, oral cancer screenings, take digital x-rays, and charting. I can also apply fluoride and sealants to protect and strengthen teeth. I am excited to start this new chapter at Dr. Gaddy's office and getting to know my patients and getting to watch them change and grow.
I have two children with my husband, a son and a daughter. Scout (dog) and Beans (cat) also joined our family when we rescued them. We love to travel and have adventures outdoors with the kids. We also love exploring all the things to do in Austin.
I enjoy talking with new and different people every day, and catching up with our established patients, too. Each day is a new chance to learn something, and I try to make the most of every opportunity. I have been working as Dr. Gaddy's assistant since 2011 and feel very fortunate to end up with such a great doctor right after graduating school. I live in Thorndale, about 45 minutes away, and it is worth the drive to work with this amazing team. I sit chairside and assist Dr. Gaddy, set up and break down rooms, sterilize instruments, and develop x-rays. I am occasionally at the front desk, answering our telephones and scheduling appointments for our patients.
In my personal life, I am kept very busy with my family. I have two boys, 16 year old Devon and 2 year old Jackson, and one daughter, 13 year old Paige. We stay pretty active with outdoor activities like fishing. We also love to travel and experience new things!
I started working with Dr. Gaddy in 2015 and already feel like family. I recently graduated and glad to be a part of this office. My work duties are somewhat varied. I walk patients back to their exam or treatment room, record their history, and then make sure that they are relaxed and comfortable in the dental chair. I also take and develop patient dental X-rays, set up the treatment rooms, and clean and sterilize our instruments, too. When Dr. Gaddy or a hygienist is treating a patient, I am often chairside, providing assistance as needed.
At home I stay busy with my 3 children, Mila, Max, and Kennedy. Mila is in Colorguard. Max plays football. Kennedy loves being outdoors riding her scooter. In 2014 we rescued a pit bull named Dakota. We also have a cat named Kismit and a Chihuahua named Bella. We are one big happy family!
